<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves determining change of frequency of light (120) emitted from a light source i.e. headlight (110), where the light represents light radiated of an object. Information such as alternation in relative velocity between a vehicle (100) and the object is determined based on the frequency change of the light. A determination is made whether a light signal is combined with a reference signal of the light to determine the change of the light frequency, where the light signal represents the light received by a light detecting device e.g. camera (112) and light sensor, of the vehicle. #CMT# : #/CMT# The light detecting device is designed as a light sensor and a camera. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for determining information about relative velocity between a vehicle and an object (2) a computer program product comprising instructions for determining information about relative velocity between a vehicle and an object. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for determining information about relative velocity between a vehicle e.g. passenger car, lorry or commercial vehicle, and an object i.e. road user such as pedestrian, cyclist or animal, vehicle, and a stationary object e.g. lane markings or traffic sign. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method enables changing radiation characteristic of the light source to enable accurate determination of the relative velocity between the vehicle and the object in a quick and efficient manner.
