<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and a control method thereof capable of performing an optimal display. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device of the present invention includes: detection means for detecting a user position with respect to the image display device; view determination means for determining whether or not a predetermined view angle range of the user is kept within a screen when the user detected by the detection means views the screen, on the basis of a distance D between the center position of the screen of the image display device and the user position detected by the detection means, and an angle Θ between a line from the center position of the screen to the user position, and the perpendicular line to the screen through the center position of the screen; and setting means for setting a first display mode when the view determination means determines that the predetermined view angle range is kept within the screen, and a second display mode when the view determination means determines that the predetermined view angle range is not kept within the screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
