PURPOSE: An actuation circuit and a power converter are provided to form each switching element included in an inverter with an IGBT(Insulated Gate Bipolar mode Transistor) and a free-wheeling diode. CONSTITUTION: A motor controller includes a converter(1), an inverter(2), a gate actuation circuit(3), a control power(4), a controller(5) and an I(Input)/O(Output) port(6). The converter is a power rectifier converting AC(Alternating Current) voltage to DC(Direct Current) voltage. The control power is connected to the controller and the gate actuation circuit. The controller is connected to the I/O port. The controller receives commands from outside through the I/O port. The controller outputs a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) gate actuation signal to the gate actuation circuit. The converter has a full wave rectifier circuit and a smoothing condenser(8). The full wave rectifier circuit comprises six diodes(7). Each switching element(9) comprises an IGBT and a free-wheeling diode.
