<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball sorting machine that sorts golf balls by highly reliably determining whether to discard golf balls. <P>SOLUTION: The sorting machine counts the number of thin and small bruises made on the surface of a golf ball, and whether to discard the golf ball is determined based on the counted value. Shot is affected by the number of thin and small bruises made on the surface of the golf ball, the above criterion is effective for golf balls. The sorting machine is additionally installed on a cleaning device, and part of cleaned golf balls are arbitrarily picked up to be determined.
