PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a strong Raman scattering signal without damaging nor deteriorating the object even when an object, such as a black plastic, tending to absorb laser light is contained.

SOLUTION: A Raman scattering signal obtaining device includes a light collecting optical system which radiates excitation laser light to an identification object plastic P placed on an upper surface of a belt 4a of a belt conveyer 4, and collects the Raman scattering light scattered at the identification object plastic P; and a moving mechanism 10a for moving the light collecting optical system in parallel with the upper surface of the belt 4a. The Raman scattering signal is obtained while moving the light collecting optical system in parallel with the upper surface of the belt 4a in a range of the spot size or larger of the excitation laser light.
