Provided is a medical device in which a layer comprising an acidic polymer and a basic polymer is formed on at least a portion of the surface of a soft base material having a low moisture content, wherein the soft base material having a low moisture content has, as the main component, a copolymer containing a monofunctional monomer component (M) having one polymerizable functional group and a silicone site per molecule. As a consequence, a soft and difficult-to-damage medical device exhibiting excellent wettability and slipperiness is provided.
