The aim of the present invention is to provide: a highly solvent- and heat-resistant carrier for adsorption that, regardless of the presence of an amide group or the like, has outstanding blood component adsorption properties and in particular inflammatory cytokine adsorption properties; and a method for producing a carrier for adsorption that can introduce a desired functional group onto the surface of a carrier and cross-link groups of aromatic rings in one step. The present invention provides a carrier for adsorption comprising at least one type of polymer compound having at least two repeating units containing aromatic rings.
