A control apparatus (1) for controlling a technical installation (10) in an automated manner has a number of modules (100) which are arranged beside one another in a longitudinal direction (L). The modules (100) each comprise at least one module part (104) which comprises a housing (105). The module part (104) also comprises at least one first electrical bus connection (117) on a first side of the housing (105) for electrical connection to a first neighbouring module part beside said module part in the longitudinal direction (L) and at least one second electrical bus connection (117') on a second side of the housing (105), opposite the first side, for electrical connection to a second neighbouring module part beside said module part in the longitudinal direction (L). According to one aspect of the invention, the module part (104) comprises at least one movable part (150) which can be moved into a first position and a second position, wherein the movable part (150), in the first position, provides an electrical connection between the first bus connection (117) and the second bus connection (117') and, in the second position, provides an isolation point (152) between the first bus connection (117) and the second bus connection (117').
