PURPOSE: An LED lighthouse lantern with a backup function and an operating method thereof are provided to use a backup light source when the main light source is malfunctioned by simultaneously forming the main light source and the backup light source for a lighthouse lantern. CONSTITUTION: An LED lighthouse lantern with a backup function comprises a lower lamp(10) and an upper lamp(20). A control unit for controlling an LED module(40) and a power supply unit are installed inside the lower lamp. The upper lamp is capable of folding and is arranged above the lower lamp. A lens cover(30) is mounted on the upper lamp. An LED light installation rod(21) for installing an LED module is formed in the inner center of the lens cover. A backup LED module is mounted above the LED light installation rod. When a main LED(41) is malfunctioned, the backup LED is operated to guide the sailing route for a ship. |
