<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve structure of a shock absorber which can control a damping force according to a frequency during compression and extension movement of a piston valve to satisfy both ride comfort and handling performance. <P>SOLUTION: The valve structure of a shock absorber has a cylinder filled with a working fluid and a piston rod with one end located inside the cylinder and the other end extended outward from the cylinder. A main piston valve assembly, which operates with the inside of the cylinder divided into upper and lower chambers and generates a damping force according to a moving speed, is installed at one end of the piston rod. A frequency unit, which moves together with the main piston valve assembly and generates a damping force varying according to a frequency, is mounted at a lower end of the piston rod. The frequency unit includes a housing whose inside is hollow and a free piston arranged to be vertically movable within the housing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
