<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory device that can help shorten the timeout length and realize appropriate data transfers. <P>SOLUTION: A memory device 3 monitors the state of data transmission and reception to and from a host device 1, and causes the time taken by the host device 1 to determine the occurrence of an error to be shortened according to the state of data transmission and reception. In order to cause the time taken by the host device 1 to determine the occurrence of an error to be shortened, conceivably (A) the memory device 3, when having detected an abnormal state of data transmission and reception, issues an error report to the host device 1 or (B) the memory device 3 alters its own timeout length according to the state of data transmission and reception. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
