<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a hand and a finger from being hurt even in such a situation as to pinch the hand and the finger between a head of a sharp-pointed member and a handle of a hitting tool as a result of the slippage of a hitting head of the hitting tool from the head of the sharp-pointed member when hitting, by the hitting head of the hitting tool, the sharp-pointed member whose apical end is sharp such as a pile, a nail or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The handle 6 extending from a hitting portion 2 is separated by a flange 8 circumferentially protruding from the handle 6 into an upper portion 6a held by one hand of a worker and a lower portion 6b held by the other hand of the worker. A protective member 10 or 11 for covering the back of the one hand and backsides of all fingers of the worker is mounted to at least the upper portion 6a so as not to be disengaged from the upper portion 6a of the handle.
