摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device and an optical unit capable of enhancing light resistance of a liquid crystal panel for a short wavelength region by improving ultraviolet absorption spectrum of a material used for a liquid crystal layer of the liquid crystal panel for the short wavelength region. <P>SOLUTION: A projection type display device uses liquid crystal panels, of which a liquid crystal panel for blue has a lower integrated value obtained by integrating absorbance of a liquid crystal layer by a wavelength region &lambda;<SB POS="POST">300-350</SB>from 300nm to 350nm, in comparison with other liquid crystal panels (a liquid crystal panel for red and a liquid crystal panel for green). Further, in the liquid crystal layer of the liquid crystal panel for blue, an absorption edge on a long-wavelength side is positioned at a short wavelength side, in comparison with liquid crystal layers of the liquid crystal panel for red and the liquid crystal panel for green. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
