The system has forceps (1) formed as a setting aid for setting an orthodontic bracket (10) on a tooth surface. The bracket has a base with a lower side for setting on a tooth (3). A socket is arranged on the base, and an occlusal wall has an occlusal ligature wing. A gingival wall has a gingival ligature wing, where the occlusal and gingival walls are separated from each other by a groove. A recess is formed at an arm of the forceps, and one of curvatures (17) of the bracket is adapted to the recess, where the socket is arranged between the curvatures.
