<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake which renders its braking force improved in comparison with a conventional one by getting a contact area where a brake shoe is brought into contact with a rotary drum larger in comparison with a conventional one when the drum brake brakes. <P>SOLUTION: When the other ends of the first brake shoes 22 and 24 are brought into contact with the brake drum 12 by an expansion device 20, the first brake shoe 22 rotates together with the brake drum 12 to cause a corotation force F1 to rotate the first brake shoe 22 around a transmission member 32 so that one end of the first brake shoe 22 may approach the inner peripheral face 14 of the brake drum 12. Therefore, one end and the other end of the first brake shoe 22 are brought into contact with the brake drum 12 to get the contact area where the first brake shoe is brought into contact with the brake drum 12 when the drum brake 10 brakes larger in comparison with the conventional brake shoe, thereby rendering the braking force of the drum brake 10 improved in comparison with the conventional one. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
