STATION SIDE DEVICE, OPTICAL COMMUNICATION NETWORK, AND POWER SUPPLY CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent consumption of wasteful standby power of a station side device in an optical communication network configuration of which is one station side device being connected to a plurality of subscriber side devices.

SOLUTION: A period when an uplink optical signal is received is regarded as a power supply execution period, and a period when an uplink optical signal is not received is regarded as a power supply stop period. A station side device executes power supply to an uplink optical signal receiving unit, especially a photoelectric conversion unit provided in the uplink optical signal receiving unit during the power supply execution period. On the other hand the station side device stops power supply to the uplink optical signal receiving unit during the power supply stop period.
