The method involves dismounting a permanent magnet (10) from a receiving opening (12) under heat application by a heating device (36). A joining element (20), by which the permanent magnet is fixed in the opening, is heated by the heating device so that phase change of the joining element is caused for dismounting the permanent magnet. The joining element is sectionally melted and/or vaporized by heating and made of plastic. The permanent magnet is heated by the heating device and demagnetized due to heating. An independent claim is also included for a device for disassembly of a permanent magnet in a receiving opening of a rotor element for an electric machine.
