The radio telescope system (8) has a lower section (9) to which a movable upper section (10) is connected. A base (11) is provided in the lower section. A reflector support structure (16) is provided in upper section and is provided a space frame (17). A ballast (15) is integrated in reflector support structure as supporting element. An elevation axis is extended within an opening portion formed in space frame. An azimuth structure is arranged to perform relative rotation of upper section with respect to lower section about an azimuth axis. An independent claim is included for method for designing radio-telescope system.
