PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying device capable of being constituted at a low cost by using a versatile equipment, excellent in lifting ability and applicable to high lift. SOLUTION: In an excavated hole 1 in great depth, the whole lift is divided into a plurality of small lift sections, and a first lift 2 and a second lift 3 goin up and down at a certain stroke through a hydraulic cylinder are respectively arranged. A container 7 storing muck therein is mounted on the first lift 2 through a pallet 6, the first lift 2 is raised and, at the same time, the second lift 3 is lowered to stop it in the middle part of a small lift section in a state to meet each other, and after the container 7 is delivered to the second lift 3 from the first lift 2, the falling of the first lift 2 and the rising of the second lift 3 are simultaneously executed to push the container 7 up to the upper end of the small lift section. The pushed up container 7 is delivered to the first lift 2 of the right above small lift section. Such operation is repeated, and the container 7 is raised to the whole lift along the excavated hole 1 in a relay system.
