<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet which can prevent the dye layer of a thermal transfer sheet from being abnormally transferred to an object to which an image is transferred or thermally fusion-bonded to the latter, during printing process, while dealing with the acceleration of printing speed, and further, which shows successful adhesion with a base material sheet, high shelf stability, excellent print density and the inhibition of print discoloration, and a thermal transfer recording material using this thermal transfer sheet. <P>SOLUTION: This thermal transfer sheet includes: a heat-resistant lubricating layer formed on one surface of a base material; and a dye layer containing a dye and a binder formed on the other surface of the base material, wherein the binder of the dye layer contains a cellulose-based resin and a polyvinyl acetal resin with a weight-average molecular weight of not less than 220,000 as a main component. Further, the content of cellulose-based resin is 1 to 15 wt.% of the total solid content of the binder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
