PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method with excellent security in access to a Web site using DVD having an Internet connecting function. SOLUTION: The authentication method using an authentication server 1 including a storage means storing authentication animation data and a client device 2 capable of performing transmitting and receiving of data with the authentication server 1 through the Internet and reproducing DVD comprises animation data transmitting step in which the client device 2 transmits animation data recorded in the DVD 100 installed to the client device 2 to the authentication server 1; and authentication step in which the authentication server 1 collates the animation data received from the client device 2 with all or part of authentication animation data, performing predetermined permission processing when matching is determined, and performing predetermined non-permission processing when mismatching is determined.
