PURPOSE: A variable stiffness torsion beam is provided to control stiffness by adjusting the angle of a panel member of a torsion beam. CONSTITUTION: A variable stiffness torsion beam comprises a first axle member(12), a first panel(11), a second axle member(14), and a second panel(13). The first axle member, whose one end is adjacent to a trailing arm, comprises an insertion portion(12a) protruded in the direction of a axle in the other end. One end of the first panel is arranged to coincide with the one end of the first axle member, the other end of the first panel is formed to be adjacent to the opposite trailing arm, and the first panel boarders the lateral side of the first axle member. The second axle member has an insertion hole in which the insertion portion is inserted in the axle direction, and is combined with the first axle member to be able to rotate. The second panel is formed in the same length of the first panel, contacts outside of the second axle member, and is formed to have a certain angle with the first panel. |
