PURPOSE: An automatic gain control device and an automatic gain control method using the same are provided to automatically control a gain of an inputted signal by using an average gain value. CONSTITUTION: A gain controller(100) controls an inputted analog signal from an RF receiving end according to a gain value. An ADC(200) outputs an analog signal as a digital signal from the gain controller. A power measuring module(300) calculates a power from a digital signal outputted from the ADC. An average power measuring module(400) calculates an average power from instantaneous power. A gain determining device(500) determines the gain value according to the size of average power outputted from the average power measuring module. A DAC(600) converts the gain value to an analog signal.
