<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stable estimate tire ground contact length without attaching an acceleration sensor to a wheel. <P>SOLUTION: A tire ground contact length estimation device 60 includes: a reference self-aligning torque peak determination part 80 for determining whether or not reference self-aligning torque calculated as a value proportional to self-aligning torque on the basis of the self-aligning torque detected by a self-aligning torque detection part 62 and a wheel load change ratio estimated by a wheel load change ratio estimation part 61 reaches a peak; and a tire ground contact length estimation part 63 which when the reference self-aligning torque peak determination part 80 determines that the reference self-aligning torque reaches the peak, estimates tire ground contact length from a value obtained by dividing the self-aligning torque detected by the self-aligning torque detection part 62 by lateral force estimated by a tire lateral force estimation part 70. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
