<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device that improves its inflation performance without using an additional component. <P>SOLUTION: An airbag 2 includes: a restraint part 21 disposed in front of an occupant when the airbag is inflated; a root part 22 connected to an inflator 3; a top part 23 disposed at the side of a window shield W; and a bottom part 24 disposed between the occupant and instrument panel I when the airbag is inflated. The restraint part 21 is folded like a belt by allowing a contact surface 21a in contact with the occupant to be upward to form a flap part 25.
