<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of performing a heat exhausting operation without using a fan as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A duct 50 extending in a longitudinal direction is mounted on a rear frame 41 of an apparatus body 2. A lower end side opening 53 of the duct 50 becomes an opening for an air inlet and an upper end side opening 54 becomes an opening for an air outlet. A first board P1 is mounted in an exposed state into the duct 50 and a second board P2 is mounted just under the lower end side opening 53. Air in the duct 50 is positively heated by heat generated by the first and second boards P1 and P2 and the so-called chimney effect is assisted.
