SUBSEA COMPRESSION ASSEMBLY

Subsea compression assembly (100) adapted to compress a fluid flowing through the assembly, said fluid being an inhibited hydrocarbon-containing fluid from a subsea hydrocarbon well. The assembly (100) has a compressor (115) and a convection cooler (105) for cooling the fluid upstream of the compressor. The cooler (105) is a single flow channel cooler, cooling the fluid within the single flow channel by heat convection from the fluid to sea water through walls of a flow channel pipe (201) within which the single flow channel is arranged. It has a jacket pipe (207) arranged about the flow channel pipe, and a pump (215) adapted to pump sea water through an annulus (209) between the flow channel pipe (201) and the jacket pipe (207) from an annulus inlet (211) to an annulus outlet (213), along the axial extension of the flow channel pipe (201).
