The present invention relates to stable local emulsion compositions comprising: a thermo-reversible block copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide and tea tree oil. In one of embodiments of the present invention the composition may comprise a hydrophilic, non-ionic fatty acid emulsifier. In another embodiment of the present invention the composition may comprise a thermo-reversible block copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide in an amount from about 10% 50% by weight of the composition, the hydrophilic, non-ionic fatty acid emulsifier in an amount from about 0.5% to 50% by weight of the composition and the tea tree oil in an amount from about 0.1% to 80% by weight of the composition. The present invention also relates to said compositions to be useful to oesophageal, otic, vaginal, rectal or ophthalmic surfaces for the treatment of disorders and imperfections of the skin. The present invention also relates to methods for preparing a stable emulsion composition. |
