PURPOSE: A character input interface providing method and apparatus thereof are provided to enable a user to effectively input mixed text in a terminal including a touch screen by providing a virtual keyboard. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen provides a second keyboard including a second keyboard language selection key to a second area and a first keyboard to a first area in a text input mode(220). When input which touches the second keyboard language selection key is received, a control unit converts a language of the second keyboard into a language corresponding to the second keyboard language selection key by maintaining the language of the first keyboard(235). When drag input is sensed from a location set in the first keyboard to another location set in the second keyboard, the touch screen switches a location of the first and the second keyboard.
