METHOD FOR REMOVING PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE, AND PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE

A method for removing a pressure-sensitive adhesive is provided in which the pressure-sensitive adhesive can be easily removed by irradiation with ultraviolet rays without leaving an adhesive residue. Also provided is a pressure-sensitive adhesive. The method is for removing a pressure-sensitive adhesive which comprises a (meth)acrylic ester copolymer (A) and a polyfunctional isocyanate or epoxy hardener (B) as main components, from an ultraviolet-transmitting material to which the pressure-sensitive adhesive has been applied. The method comprises irradiating ultraviolet rays having a peak at 172 nm through the ultraviolet-transmitting material upon the surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive which is in contact with the ultraviolet-transmitting material, thereby curing the surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive, and removing the pressure-sensitive adhesive from the ultraviolet-transmitting material.
