Provided is a photocatalytic coating film that can exert superior adhesion with respect to an adherend surface and can achieve superior photocatalytic performance. The photocatalytic coating film is obtained by coating and drying a photocatalytic coating material, which contains at least rod-like or needle-like titanium oxide particles and a binder component, in a manner so that the amount of contained titanium oxide particles is at least 0.5 g/m2, and the photocatalytic coating film is characterized by the amount of contained titanium oxide particles per unit volume (1 m2 × 1 µm thickness) being less than 3.0 g. The aspect ratio (ratio of long side/short side length) of the titanium oxide particles is preferably at least 1.5, and the compounding ratio (former: latter (weight ratio)) of the titanium oxide particles and the binder component is preferably 1:6 to 30:1.
