<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality similarity search function for online dictionaries capable of reducing the load in dictionary management. <P>SOLUTION: A similarity search section 3 searches a whole dictionary on the basis of an input notation made by a dictionary manager to identify a notation similar to the input notation. A main portion determination section 4 identifies a common portion between the similar notation identified by similarity search means and the input notation, and when the identified common portion is found in a main part dictionary, determines the common portion as a main part candidate. The main portion determination section 4 determines whether an additional part candidate, from which the main part candidate is excluded from the similar notation, is found in an additional part dictionary, and settles the main part candidate as a main part on the basis of the determination result. A distance calculation section 5 calculates an editorial distance between the main part of the determined similar notations and the main part of the input notation. An update check section 6 presents to the dictionary manager the similar notation, the main part and the additional part in order of the calculated editorial distance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
