Provided is an imaging unit structure for an endoscope which is capable of easily expanding an angle of view, and which is configured such that it is difficult for ambient dust and fluids such as body fluids to penetrate between an objective lens system and a light-receiving surface of a solid-state image sensor. Thus, the structure has an objective lens system upon which light from a site under observation is incident, and a solid-state image sensor for receiving light emitted from the objective lens system and performing photoelectric conversion on images of the site under observation; and the surface of the lens on at least the emission side in the objective lens system is formed in a planar shape, and the lens surface on the emission side of the object lens system is joined to the light-receiving surface of the solid-state image sensor where the surfaces meet. |
