OSHMB4 GENE FROM ORYZA SATIVA AND USES THEREOF

PURPOSE: An Oryza sativa-derived OsHMB4(Oryza sativa homeobox 4) is provided to control plant development and to enhance crop productivity. CONSTITUTION: An Oryza sativa-derived plant development regulatory protein, OsHMB4(Oryza sativa homeobox 4), contains an amino acid sequence of sequence number 2. A gene encoding the protein contains a base of sequence number 1. A recombinant vector contains the gene of sequence number 1. A method for controlling plant development comprises a step of transforming the recombinant vector to plant cells and a step of controlling the expression of OsHMB4 gene. A method for producing a transgenic plant with controlled plant development comprises: a step of transforming the plant cells with the recombinant vector; and a step of redifferentiating the plant from the transformed plant cells.
