<p>A method and associated device for processing an image belonging to a set of images in a display system (such as a multi-projector display) in which the image comprises several image blocks. Image blocks comprising missing or erroneous data are detected, 302, and reconstructed, 303, using an error concealment method (such as a temporal concealment method.) For each image block in the image a distance value with respect to a corresponding image block of a previous image is also determined (Figure 7, 701.) Each determined distance value is then compared with a determined threshold value (Figure 7, 703) and image blocks replaced according to the result of the comparison. The threshold value may be representative of the impact caused in the image by the reconstruction of the image block comprising missing or erroneous data and may be calculated by determining a distance value for each image block bordering an image block comprising erroneous or missing data (Figure 5, 501) and then applying a function (such as averaging) on the set of determined distance values (Figure 5, 502.) The method may be used to recover missing or erroneous data while maintaining image coherency by reducing the number of visual artefacts generated.</p> |
