PURPOSE: A touchless foot button device for an elevator and a control method thereof are provided to register a call input button without additional pushing motion by configuring a foot button device with a direct reflective sensor. CONSTITUTION: A touchless foot button device for an elevator(20) comprises a sensor part, a lighting part, an output contact point, and a control part. The sensor part irradiates direct reflective sensor lights for detecting objects to a floor surface separated at a predetermined distance from a wall where a foot button is installed. The lighting part visually displays a point where the sensor light is irradiated from the sensor part on the floor surface. Signals are transmitted between a call input button and a foot button through the output contact point. When a predetermined detecting signal is inputted from the sensor part, the control part controls the foot button device to transmit signals for registering the call button through the output contact point.
