PURPOSE: A side airbag apparatus is provided to protect passengers with proper inflation pressure as the passengers directly come into contact with an inflated airbag cushion without touching first and second support members. CONSTITUTION: A side airbag apparatus comprises a seat frame, an airbag cushion(20), first and second support members. The frame comprises a headrest frame, a first frame and a second frame(16). The headrest frame props up the passengers' heads. The first frame supports the passengers' backs. The second frame connects the headrest frame to the first frame. The airbag cushion is deployed to the side of the passenger when gas flows in. The first support member connects the airbag cushion to the first frame, and supports the deployed airbag cushion. The second support member is placed on the first support member, and connects the airbag cushion to the second frame to support the deployed airbag cushion. |
