NAVIGATION DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device which reflects an actual condition of a road and enables a user to easily grasp the position of an own vehicle.

SOLUTION: A navigation device comprises: a storage part (1) which stores map data containing roads; a detection part (2) which detects the position of an own vehicle; and a control part (7) which displays in a display (4) an image of the road on which the own vehicle is traveling based on the map data stored in the storage part (1) and the position of the own vehicle detected by the detection part (2). When the own vehicle reaches near a road having a positional relation in which it overlaps with another road vertically in a view from an upper view point, the control part (7) switches from an image of the road on which the own vehicle is traveling to an image of the road viewed from a view point where the own vehicle is visible and displays it in the display (4).
