<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a plasma display panel with an excellent display characteristic that can reduce a sustained discharge voltage by improving an electron emission characteristic of a protective layer, and that can be driven at a low voltage at high luminance even in a high-definition image. <P>SOLUTION: A plasma display panel manufacturing method has a sealing and exhausting step, in which an electrode, a dielectric body, a front plate, on which a protective layer is formed, and a back plate are opposed to each other with a discharge space formed, and sealed by a sealing material, and gas in the discharge space is exhausted. The sealing and exhausting step has a step of exhausting the gas in the discharge space during or after sealing the front plate and the back plate, a step of introducing reductive organic gas in the discharge space, and a step of exhausting the reductive organic gas. In the step of introducing the reductive organic gas in the discharge space, a temperature of the discharge space is not more than a temperature, at which the protective layer reacts with the reductive organic gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
