The present invention provides a composite material which has excellent adhesion to a base material comprising a graphene-like carbon material resin, and also provides a method for producing the same. The composite material is formed by a base material comprising resin, and the graphene-like carbon material which is provided in such a way as to cover at least part of the surface of the base material. The composite material is obtained by bonding the graphene-like carbon material to the surface of the base material. The method for producing the composite material involves bringing the graphene-like carbon material into contact with at least part of the surface of the base material comprising resin and providing heat while causing a fluid in a supercritical or subcritical state to act thereon.
