The present invention relates to a method for reducing the use of a neighbour list according to an address allocation policy, including: an intermediate router forwarding a DHCPv6 request message sent by a user host to a server; the intermediate router receiving a DHCPv6 reply message sent by the server, wherein the DHCPv6 reply message carries the IPv6 address allocated to the user host, with the prefix length of the IPv6 address not exceeding the processing capacity of the intermediate router; and the intermediate router acquiring the prefix of the IPv6 address and generating a prefix route according to the prefix. Also provided are an intermediate router and a DHCPv6 server. Since the router is generating a prefix route according to the IPv6 address a message is forwarded according to the route instead of forwarding the message by generating a neighbour list. This avoids the problem that the network scale is restricted due to fewer neighbour list resources. Moreover, since the router has a large number of routing list resources, the message being forwarded by generating a route improves the utilization ratio of the router device.
|
