<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breakwater which attenuates tsunami energy, preventing a dam body from being destroyed so as to minimize the damage to the coast by tsunami. <P>SOLUTION: A breakwater includes a number of main projecting bars 7 extending in vertical direction with an approximately triangular horizontal section, on the open sea-side 5 of a dam body 1. Each of the main projecting bars has a curvature such that the central part 7a is positioned more closely to the inland-sea side than the both upper and lower ends 7b and 7c. A subsidiary projecting bar 9 extending in vertical direction with an approximately triangular horizontal section is provided between the main projecting bars on the open sea-side of the dam body. The horizontal section of the subsidiary projecting bar is smaller than the horizontal section of the main projecting bar. The main projecting bar and the subsidiary projecting bar have ridge parts covered with stainless steel face plates 11 and 13, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
