PURPOSE: A method for managing a video call history and a video communication apparatus thereof are provided to manage a video call history and the image of an opponent obtained in a call together. CONSTITUTION: A control unit of a video communications apparatus obtains the image of an opponent during a video call. If a request or a set image acquisition condition of a user is satisfied during the call, the control unit obtains the opponent's image. The control unit matches history information about the video call to the obtained opponent's image. The control unit stores the history information.
