<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a DLNA server when power supply to a DLNA client is shut off, in a network system. <P>SOLUTION: An HDD recorder 1, which is a server apparatus, stands by in a state disabling a DLNA function for a television receiver 2 which is a client apparatus.
