<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering device that can improve the responsiveness when the cut-in steering at the steering neutral neighborhood without causing the sense of incompatibility at the cut-back steering. <P>SOLUTION: A gear ratio variable control calculation part 23 operates a gear ratio variable command angle θvg * corresponding to the steering angle θs in the small steering angle area of steering neutral neighborhood so that the steering gear ratio may become a quicker value. Moreover, the gear ratio variable control calculation part 23 includes a steering state determining part 34 that determines conditions of the steering operation (steering state) by the driver whether "cut-in" or "cut back".
