Software executes on a processor of a terminal, such as an automate teller machine, at start-up to perform validation of expected peripheral devices for a predetermined number of start-ups. Once the predetermined number of start-ups has been reached with the same peripheral devices being present and operational the validation operation is curtailed and start-up of the terminal is sped up. |
