<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image quality by optimizing sub-scanning image surface curvature relative to uneven pitches. <P>SOLUTION: The optical scanner 100 comprises: a light source 1; a cylindrical lens 4 configured to image a luminous flux from the light source 1 onto a polygon mirror 5 as a linear image; and a scanning lens 6 configured to image a luminous flux deflected by the polygon mirror 5 onto an image surface as a point image. In such an optical scanner 100, if the respective distances from the rotation center of the polygon mirror 5 at a scanning initiation end, in the middle, and scanning termination end when the polygon mirror 5 is deflected and scanned to the luminous flux reflection position of the polygon mirror 5 are α1,α2, and α3, and the respective distances from the image surface at the scanning initiation end, in the middle, and scanning termination end to a paraxial focal position at which a luminous flux condenses in a second direction are β1, β2, and β3, the optical scanner 100 satisfies α2<α1,α3 and β2<β1,β3 or α2>α1,α3 and β2>β1,β3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
