<p>The invention relates to a vibrating-plate apparatus, comprising a vibrating plate (12) on which the user is to be positioned, a vibrating motor (28) rigidly connected to the vibrating plate so as to cause the latter to vibrate, an air cushion (55) arranged below the vibrating plate in order to dampen the effect of the vibrations, and a compressed-air source (60) communicating with the air cushion, for setting the air pressure in the cushion to a predetermined value regardless of the weight of the user. The air cushion arranged below the vibrating plate is connected to a sensor controller (72) connected to a control unit (64). The sensor controller constantly captures the air pressure within the air cushion, and controls a reciprocating motion of the cylinder in accordance with said pressure at a predetermined frequency controlled by the control unit so as to obtain an oscillating motion, or an oscillating and rotating motion, of the vibrating plate.</p> |
