<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor, a control method therefor, and a program which validate additional installation of hardware even when the hardware is additionally installed in the information processor before the information processor starts. <P>SOLUTION: An information processor comprises a monitoring circuit which receives electric power supplied from a backup power source, monitors additional installation of hardware, and when additional installation of hardware occurs, temporarily holds occurrence information concerning the additional installation.
