[Class 99 (i)] In a rod or tube coupling in which a split ferrule 9 is expanded into engagement with the tube 2 by operating a screw 7 to draw a wedge 8 therein, means for preventing the wedge from expanding the ferrule during withdrawal of the assembly on' uncoupling comprises a member 12 secured on the screw which engages the end of the ferrule.
